Paris has always had wonderful beauty products and South Korea beauty products are up and coming and new. What a great unique Mother’s Day gift!
I love beauty products from Paris and South Korea that are confirmed to be good from friends. I am so lucky to have a Parisian American friend, Coreen, for almost thirty years who lives part time in Florida with me, and knows all about Parisian beauty products, and a new Asian American friend, Cora, from San Francisco and East Hampton, who knows all about South Korean beauty products. Coincidentally, I came upon articles about products from each location, which my friends reviewed and gave their recommendations for me to share.
And, if you plan to be in Paris, go to Coreen’s family pharmacy to find these products and much more, Pharmacie Du Drugstore Champs Elysees at 133 Avenue des Champs Elysees, 75008 Paris. I am taking my young adult grandchildren to Paris in a few weeks, spending time with Coreen, and, of course, taking them to the drugstore to explore for themselves all their Parisian beauty products.
FIRST, NUXE Paris, AND ON AMAZON!
When it was published, I sent my Parisian dear friend a copy of the article, “Everyone in Paris Smells So Good, and This $25 Scent on Amazon Is Responsible, “ on the Who What Wear Website to ask her opinion.
I did not expect she would know the family behind the company as well as the products and love them both! She said the brand, NUXE Paris, has natural ingredients and smells delicious, and is sold at their pharmacy. She continued that out of the original two sisters who started the brand back in the 1990’s or earlier, one is the mother of a boy who went to preschool with her daughter. They would go to each other children’s birthday parties. The family is a very nice family, according to Coreen.
Of course, I passed the information along to friends in Florida, and we all purchased the products on Amazon and love them still. Not only that, a few of my dear Florida friend’s granddaughters loved how she smelled, and she has gotten the products for all of her granddaughters who requested them.
Beautiful presentation and great products. What a great idea for Mother’s Day 2026!
On Amazon, we bought the recommended $29.50 “NUXE Paris Huile Prodigieuse Multi-Purpose Dry Oil-Radiant Glow and Lightweight Hydration for Face, Body & Hair. Nourishes, Repairs and Enhances.”
This dry oil is and smells wonderful, with a “silky smooth texture, I agree with the review that “it soaks into the skin quickly without leaving a greasy residue.”
On Amazon, we bought the second NUXE product recommended, $26 NUXE Paris Prodigieux Beautifying Scented Body Lotion, Satin Finish Moisturizer with Coconut, Argan and Almond Oils.
I am wearing it today and always get complements on the beautiful fragrance. I love that it makes my skin soft and absorbs without being greasy.
SECOND, BEAUTY PRODUCTS FROM SOUTH KOREA ON AMAZON!
When I saw the Conde Nast Traveler article, “These are the South Korean skincare products I buy every time I visit Seoul without fail, as a beauty editor of 15 years,” the first person I thought of is the friend I made at the Guatemala memoir writing retreat, Cora Wen. If you are a subscriber of my blog, which you should be, you already know Cora from a recent blog post.
As I wrote in my blog post, not only is Cora a yoga teacher, a writer, but she is also a travel agent, and I hope to travel to South Korea with her to the newest facial medi-spas on earth. Of course, I wanted her opinion on the article and recommended beauty products from South Korea, and am sharing it now.
Cora likes Biodance Bio Collagen-Real Deep Mask, described in the article as, “One of the most talked-about top Korean skin products, this delivers intense hydration while subtly tightening pores. The collagen-rich formula leaves skin looking plumper and more refined. Ideal before events or long flights when your skin needs some serious revival.” Buy a package of four at $19. It is the pink wrapper.
She likes Medicube Triple Collagen Serum. In the article it is described as “[f]ocused on firmness and bounce, this serum is loved in Korea for improving skin density over time. It’s ideal for dry, mature or depleted skin – and perfect to help skin recover pre, during and post-flight. The texture is beautifully soft so you’ll love using it.”
At $17.90 on Amazon, it is an overall pick and I am going to make it mine.
For her thinner Asian skin she prefers Medicube PDRN Pink One Day Serum, at Amazon for $17.50, “a One-Day Pink Drop Ampoule with high-purity Salmon PDRN 99% Enhanced absorption with minimal residue. Uniform and stable concentration ensures better absorption.”
Cora, of course, added two of her own recommendations for me as I live in Florida.
The first is sunscreen, Shiseido Ultimate Sun Protector Lotion, SPF 60+. I am going to try this brand. $26 at Amazon.
The second is another product from Medicube, so I am going to explore their other products. She recommends Medicube Toner Pads as convenient and perfect when the weather is hot. $18.90 at Amazon.
The great idea for Mother’s Day is to mix and match Paris and South Korea and go global. Decide how much you want to spend or buy them all for about $150-$170. And for yourself, experiment!
What fun! Please share with those you love of all ages with
Joy,
Mema
