French Chocolate Pie for Thanksgiving

French Chocolate Pie has been a gift from a dear friend, Patti, every Thanksgiving. She has known for too many years to mention that this was perfect for this chocoholic. Now she has finally given me permission to share her recipe.
It is a make a day ahead pie, which needs to be refrigerated overnight, but joyfully is a literally just a chill pie.
To make it the easiest, you can buy a ready made Oreo pie crust if you want all chocolate, my favorite. Or use a graham crust or a cooled baked nine inch pie crust.
INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup butter softened
3/4 cup sugar
2 packages unsweetened or semisweet chocolate chips melted
2 large eggs
8 ounce tub of Original Cool Whip
DIRECTIONS
In a bowl, cream the butter with the chocolate.
With an electric hand mixer, add one egg and mix on high speed for five minutes. Add second egg and again mix for an additional five minutes. Fold in Cool Whip. Pour into pie shell and refrigerate overnight.
This could not be easier. . . And delicious. Make more than one!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
